There is a lot about my writing that I would like to improve upon this semester. However, there are a few things that I would like really to focus on. For starters, I think that one aspect of my writing abilities that could be enhanced would be the volume of my work. A lot of the time I am able to pump out words and make them seem like they make sense. I don't think that what I'm saying always has meaning, but I usually need to write just enough to fill the criteria for what ever the assignment may be. One thing that I know for sure is that I have never been a huge writer and I have no intentions of making writing my life. I want to be able to write nicely and make sense with what I am saying. If I were to increase the volume in which I write, I would feel confident that I can write effectively and that I will be able to hold my readers interest long enough for me to get my point across. I believe that by increasing the volume of my writing I will be able to focus more effectively on the writing tasks at hand. I will be able to articulate the stream of consciousness that is flowing and increase the duration of that stream of consciousness. Hopefully a way that all of this will be achievable for me is that I will be writing about things that are truly interesting to me. If I write about something that I don't care about or have no frame of reference for, then what I write will not have the effect that I would desire my writing to have. On the other hand, if I write about something that is very interesting to me, then I will sometimes over-write and end up diluting my paper with random stuff and my thoughts won't string together nicely. So something that I may consider doing in order to help myself control the amount of information that I spew out, I will write in five minute bursts to get my thoughts down on paper (or computer) and then I will take several minutes to review my thoughts and rearrange any information that I may need to. I believe that this will be the most effective and efficient way for me to express my thoughts in a way that my readers will understand where I'm going and what I'm talking about.
That is all. Tah-Tah for now!
